2025 Digital Water Innovation Summit

Introduction
In the digital era, where emerging technologies are revolutionizing
traditional industries, digital transformation and artificial intelligence
have emerged as defining trends and key drivers within the water sector.

Against this backdrop, the 2025 Digital Water Innovation Summit has been
scheduled to take place on June 4-6, 2025, at the Shanghai National

Individual Resume: Liu Suiqing, professor at Tongji University, is engaged in
research and teaching on optimization theory and computer software development for water
resource systems and urban water supply and drainage projects. He is the editor-in-chief
of professional monographs such as "Water Supply and Drainage Pipeline System", and has

application status of pipe network mathematical models, and expounding the core

been engaged in the exploration of artificial intelligence technology in the fields of
water conservancy, water affairs and ecological environment for a long time, and is
familiar with the digital transformation planning in the field of water affairs and
environmental protection. She has presided over more than 20 smart water affairs
projects and more than 10 water conservancy and water affairs and ecological environment
projects based on large models. As the main implementer, she participated in the
research and development and promotion of "precise aeration and intelligent dosing
energy-saving and consumption-reducing control technology for sewage treatment plants".
This technology was successfully selected into the "2019 National Advanced Pollution
Control Technology Catalog (Water Pollution Control Field)" (a total of 26 items
nationwide). She has presided over the planning and implementation of smart water
projects with a scale of over 100 million in super first-tier cities, the application
and construction of mechanism and mathematical hybrid modeling technology for municipal
sewage treatment plants, the implementation of video intelligent inspection applications
based on machine vision for municipal water plants/waste incineration plants, and the
construction of the first water plant intelligent dispatching center based on large
models. She presided over the preparation and release of the first "Water Industry Big
Model White Paper" in the industry, participated in the formulation of the first
municipal public utility industry video intelligence group standard, and participated in
the formulation of the first ISO Smart Water international smart water service guideline
standard. She has 4 journal papers and 3 authorized invention patents.

Speech Abstract: When general big models such as DeepSeek cause anxiety about the
industry's intelligent upgrade, this report, based on the actual experience of big model
projects, builds a systematic breakthrough framework with three "cold thinking": from
the data dimension, face the current situation of "multi-power separation" of scene
data, and analyze the dilemma and reasons of scene data barriers. From the law
dimension, through the screening principles of scene application practice, combined with
the value closed loop to drive the scene efficiency improvement in the field of water
affairs and environmental protection. From the practice dimension, through the
ecological environment monitoring big model case, the provincial and ministerial water
conservancy knowledge big model, the sewage big model of a water group and other
practical cases, the complete path from technology verification to industrial
transformation is revealed. Finally, the questioning and proposal of building a big
model for the water industry are proposed to further find a landing plan that balances
technical efficiency and scene value.

Research Field: Application of artificial intelligence technology in the water
industry

Individual Resume:Yang Bin, Chairman of Beijing Jinkong Data Technology Co., Ltd.,
holds an EMBA from Tsinghua University and a graduate student in artificial
intelligence. He is a national first-class constructor, senior engineer, and senior
project manager. His main research direction is the application of artificial
intelligence technology in the water industry. He serves as a standing member of the
Smart Water Affairs Committee of the China Water Association, a standing member of the

brought shocks and

perception system

perception, and introduces the relevant technical points of building a drainage network
perception system from the aspects of ensuring the effectiveness, consistency and
reliability of monitoring data, including the formulation of monitoring plans, the
development and application of reliable equipment, and the application mode of
monitoring data. Combined with Qinghuan's practice and exploration experience in
drainage network perception system, we will discuss with the participants how to build a

will discuss the advantages and challenges of real-time online models from the perspective of

Research Field:Development of innovative solutions for urban water management and
environmental biotechnology through effective integration of fundamental science and
engineering.

Individual Resume:Professor Zhiguo Yuan AM, Chair Professor of Urban Water Management and
a Global STEM Professor at School of Energy and Environment, City University of Hong Kong. He is
a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Technology and Engineering and a Distinguished Fellow of
the International Water Association. He is a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher, Editor-in-Chief
of Water Research X, and a Member of the Order of Australia. His research focuses on development
of innovative solutions for urban water management and environmental biotechnology through
effective integration of fundamental science and engineering. He published ~600 fully refereed
journal papers including papers in Nature, Science, Nature Microbiology, Nature Sustainability,
Nature Water, Nature Communications and PNAS, which attracted >58,000 citations, giving an
h-index of 130 (GS, April 2025). He is the founder of three biotechnology businesses. His
research achievements and leadership have been recognized through major national and
international awards including the 2015 ATSE Clunies Ross Award and the 2014, 2024 International
Water Association (IWA) Global Project Innovation Awards.

explores the deep integration of digital technology and water management. This report focuses on
the construction of a high-precision hydrological and hydrodynamic model for the region, the
integration of monitoring data and meteorological forecast information to drive real-time
simulation, dynamic scheduling and emergency response mechanisms, etc. Based on multi-scenario
scheduling strategies and dynamic data support, intelligent auxiliary decision-making for flood
control and drainage, energy consumption control and scheduling management is achieved, which
significantly improves the scientificity and agility of regional scheduling.
